So Ethan had another birthday. Wow nine years old, it is hard to believe that he is growing up so fast. So here are nine fun facts about Ethan at nine years old.

1. Ethan loves to build legos

3. Ethan is a great speller he even got to compete in the third grade spelling bee. He is the 6th best speller in his grade.

4. Ethan loves to play sports. He especially loves wake boarding and knee boarding.

5. Ethan loves to hang out with his Dad, he is always begging to go on dates with Dad.

6. Ethan loves food, his new favorites are Sushi and Thai food.

7. Ethan is also learning to play the piano this year, he will tell you that he hates it but I think that he secretly likes it.

8. Ethan loves scouts and had fun at the pinewood derby. His car (The Silver Shark) tied for third place.

9. Ethan is a great friend and gets along really well with his peers.

This is the lego Falcon Millenium, by far our best lego accomplishement. This baby took all weekend to put together.
Ethan was so excited about his birthday he had to open his presents first thing in the morning.

Happy Birthday Jason!!!! We had a fun celebration with lots of family and friends. Jason has been wanting to ride the flow rider so for his birthday we got a group together and it looked like lots of fun, well actually lots of falling. The kids got in on the fun too and had a blast boogie boarding. Maybe next year I can try when I don't have a big pregnant belly. I wish I had more pictures of the flow rider but all of them turned out to dark to see.

Christmas Eve was quiet this year. Usually we go to Mass with Jason's parents and watch the nativity with the kids from their congregation, then eat dinner with them but they moved to Washington last January so this year we had a nice quiet day at home. I am so glad that Dave and Amber could join us for dinner and opening gifts. Christmas Eve was a success until about 3 in the morning when I started throwing up. Yep the flu hit and it hit hard. Christmas morning was sort of a blur. Jason was awesome and took the kids to church and then over to my parents for the Christmas celebration. He got home about 6pm just in time to hit the toilet. Yep he got the flu too and then the next day Ethan got it. We were all wiped out for days. So I guess this will be a memorable year.

Addy's Missing Tooth

Right before Halloween Addy came running into my bathroom. She told me she had a loose tooth. At first I thought she was excited then I saw the tears, why are you crying I asked "I am to young to be loosing a tooth" was her response. I reassured her that 6 is a normal age for loosing teeth. After that she wouldn't let anyone touch her tooth. So a few days after Halloween she was eating an ice cream cone and then came running in to tell me that her tooth came out. Great I said where is it? "I don't know she said" turns out she swallowed it while she was eating her ice cream. Don't worry we wrote the tooth fairy a note and she still left Addy some money.

What a difference a year can make! Last year Brody refused to wear his costume and did not want to have any part in trick or treating. This year Brody wouldn't take his costume off. And didn't want to miss an ounce of trick or treating. We went to the trunk or treat and he wouldn't even let me talk to anyone because he had to move on to the next trunk because he was so excited to say trick or treat.

Kosuke Visit's

Last week we had a student from Japan visit us. Kosuke is 15 and in 9th grade his whole class came over and each student stayed with a differnet family. Kosuke was very respectful and shy. He fit in great with our family and we enjoyed having him stay. Ethan was a little nervous about having someone stay with us but as soon as Kosuke came Ethan had the most fun. Kosuke brought us a book and paper to make origami. The kids loved doing this and Kosuke showed them how to make lots of neat things. He also brought us Japanese cookies and miso soup. We had a great time teaching him about Halloween. We took him to a pumpkin patch and then he carved pumpkins with us. He even helped us make halloween cookies. I think he liked decorating them more than eating them he said they were too sweet. He enjoyed going to trafalga with us. We also had lots of fun playing games like Uno and Sequence. It was a great experience for our kids and we are going to miss having Kosuke around.

Fun Facts about Brody

*He is always the first one up so he comes running into my room and asks for a gogurt and movie every morning. (Preferably the Tom and Jerry or Scooby Doo movie).

*Brody loves to sing his favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle little star, or as he would say (Winkle Winkle)

*Brody still loves his white blanky.

*Brody can throw a mean tantrum or two or three or four everyday.

* He is a dare devil and is always trying to jump off of things. He loves swimming and jumps right in even though he doesn't know how to swim yet.

*Brody loves animals especially cats when he see them he runs to them and gives them a big hug.

* His favorite books are "Goodnight Moon" and "Noah's Zoo" we read these at least twice a day. He got "The Busy Spider" for his birthday and that is also becoming one of his new favs.

* Brody loves action figures and star wars guys he has to carry them around everywhere he goes and he must have at least five or six so his arms are full at all times. We can not go anywhere whithout the "guys".

Brody keeps us on our toes and is not easily persuaded to do anything. He seems to think that he is in charge and maybe he is. Our lives would not be the same without him. Happy Birthday Brody we sure love you!!

Back to School

I have to say I was very excited for school to start. I am ready for more consistent schedules and early bedtimes and having a little bit of peace in the house. Don't get me wrong I love summer and as kid I never wanted it to end. I was never ready to go back to school, but I guess it is different when you are the Mom.
Ethan is looking so grown up. He got braces this summer and they make him look a little bit older.

Addy is in kindergarten this year and she was so excited to be able to finally ride the bus to school. Every morning when she leaves I can not believe how grown up she is.

Check out Brody's cute little face. He was so excited for school too, until I wouldn't let him get on the school bus. He ran all the way down the street and then collapsed in my neighbors front yard he was so mad he would not come home until I told him he could go and play at Luke and Lily's house.

Addy turns 6

I can hardly believe that Addy is 6 years old. She has really grown up this last year and sometimes when she talks to me I can hardly believe how mature she is because I still think she is 3. Well for starters she still is the size of a three year old. Most people think she is a lot younger than she is, and then when they hear her talk they realize that she must be older than what they were thinking. Addy is my most content child she will play for hours on her own. She loves to play barbie's and barbie.com and she has such a great imagination. She loves to get her nails painted, and pretty much anything that is girly Addy is all about. She loves to sing. Her favorite song is I will follow God's Plan for me. She has become a little fish this summer. She finally put her face in the water and now she is jumping in and swimming on her own, it has been so fun to watch. Well I know she had a great birthday because we celebrated all week. Starting off with presents then swimming and cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy. Then She got to pick one friend to go to the salon and get their nails, hair and makeup done. She picked her cute cousin. The two girls had a blast and they enjoyed being pampered. Next she got her ears pierced which I do not have pictures of because the batteries were dead on my camera. She was so brave she didn't even cry. After they pierced her ears she just looked and me and said mom my ears are stinging. Then it was off to Chuck E Cheese with the family( also not pictured). The kids had a great time and you will just have to take my word for it. All in all Addy had a great birthday week.

So it has been awhile since I last posted. Summer seems to get so crazy and I feel like I can barely keep my head above water so blogging is definitely out of the question, but we have some noteworthy news. Baby number 4 is on it's way!!!! Yep coming late February. The kiddos are very excited and are hoping that it will be a baby sister, so of coarse it is going to be a baby brother. I guess we will find out in about 5 weeks.

Garth Brooks in Vegas 2011 what could be better? My Friend Heidi and I have birthday's just a week apart so our cute husbands surprised us with Garth Brooks tickets. It was an amazing concert. We had a great time. Thanks guys what an awesome surprise!
Dinner at the Grand Lux was extra delicious.

Brody + Lego Land = Crazy

Don't let those smiling faces deceive you. I will tell you the real Lego Land story. Two year olds and theme parks are really not a great idea. Well maybe not all two year olds. Brody and theme parks not a great idea. Brody has Jason's ability to never sit still and my stubbornness and when you put those two together you have one strong willed child. When we arrived at the Park Brody saw a lego elephant squirting water from his nose he wanted to watch the elephant and he would not leave, so I waited with Brody by the elephant while Jason, Ethan and Addy took a few rides. Finally Brody decided that he had enough of the elephant so we got in line for the boat ride. Brody has a hard time waiting in line so at this point he is definitely getting on edge. I finally get in the boat with him and of course he wanted to steer the boat. This was a problem because he steered us right into the corner so that we got stuck. I did what any good mom would do I grabbed the steering wheel and tried to steer us out of the corner. This was not the right move because Brody did not want me to drive the boat he wanted to drive the boat. He started screaming and trying to throw himself out of the boat. So I was left trying to steer the boat and keep Brody from throwing himself overboard. The guy from the ride had to put on his wadders and gets in the water to help push our boat to the exit. Meanwhile everyone was looking at the crazy Lady who's kid is screaming and throwing him self around while the worker is trying to rescue them. Yep that crazy lady would be me. So we finally make it off the ride, Jason buckles him in the stroller and leaves the park with Brody screaming all the way to the car. Ethan Addy and I are left behind to enjoy the rest of our day. The next day we get to the park and Brody makes it about an hour before I buckle him into the stroller screaming and head for the car. Ethan Addy and Jason are left behind to enjoy the rest of the day. Third day is a charm, we head to the Lego Land water park where Brody actually enjoys himself. Another bright moment was taking the kiddos to the beach. Brody ran up and down the beach chasing the waves in and out. I guess all he needed was a little freedom and a place to run free. The trip was not a total bust Addy and Ethan loved Lego Land. Ethan even said that he liked Lego Land better than Disneyland. Maybe next time we will leave Brody home :)

We also made it to the Sea life Aquarium. Brody was a little grumpy but he really like touching the starfish and pencil urchins.

What Addy's Been Up To

The High School had a cheer camp last month and Addy loved it!! She got to learn two cheers and two dance routines. They had a performance at the end of the week and Addy got to lead one of the cheers, she was so excited.

Addy also got to go on an awesome filed trip last month. The field trip started off at the post office. She got to send a letter to herself and we got to take a tour in the back to see where all the mail gets sorted.
Next it was on to Cold Stone Creamery. We got to check out how they make ice cream and they even gave all of us a sample. This was definitely the best part for me.

Our last stop was at a karate class. All of the kids got to participate in a class. It was so fun to watch all of the kids. They really got into it. I think I need to sign Addy up for Karate she has a fantastic hi-yah.

Eight is Great

I can not believe the I am the mother of an eight year old. Ethan has been so excited to turn eight and be baptized. He asked me if he could just turn eight get baptized and then never grow up after that. If it only worked like that. Ethan has really been preparing to be baptized and I know that it was something that he wanted to do. A few months ago he walked by a picture of the prophet in our house and said Mom whenever I walk by that picture I feel the spirit. This is Ethan with his cute friends Thai and Sawyer. Ethan got to go to their baptisms in November.
Ethan was very excited to follow the Savior's example and get baptized.

Ethan is now an official Cub Scout. He is so cute in his uniform and he wears it with pride.
Ethan had a pajama birthday party. Everyone wore their pj's and stayed over really late (9pm) that is late for a second grader. I don't have pictures but the best part of the party was the glow in the dark dance party. We gave everyone finger flashlights and glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces. We turned the lights out and the kids danced and danced and danced.

Ethan got sweet new rollerblades for his birthday. He is actually quite good on them. Following in his father's footsteps.

Brody got to help make the cupcakes for Ethan's party. He was a fantastic helper as you can see.

Ringing In The New Year

Santa Came

Santa Came and everyone was excited. Brody loved the candy in the stocking more than anything else. Ethan got the bike he has been wanting. Finally he can keep up with his friends. Addy has been eyeing a pillow pet for weeks and guess what Santa came through. The kids had a great christmas and it seemed to come and go way to fast this year.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Jason's parents and it was truly magical for the kids. Addy kept telling us that this was the best Christmas Eve ever. It was really fun to have a house full of believers. I am not sure how many more Christmas's we will have like this so it was fun to feel the magic of Christmas. It was a little bit sad too because Jason's parents are moving to Washington. Our Christmas Eve tradition with them will have to change, but we had a great last year.

Ginger Bread Houses

Traditionally we decorate ginger bread houses at the Christmas cousin party but this year the cousin party was post-poned until after Christmas so we decided we better keep the tradition alive.

Addy's First Dance Performance

What a cutie. Addy was so excited for her first performance. She was so adorable dancing up on stage. She was super serious and was even giving the girl next to her a scowl when she wasn't doing the right dance moves. It was pretty funny. Way to go Addy!!!

So I took this picture of Ethan a few weeks ago before he left for school. He is so cute every day he puts on this hat and scarf with his jacket and heads out the door. I had to get this on film so that he would remember this. Ethan will be 8 next month and I can hardly believe it. He is so excited to get baptized. I love how innocent he still is. He has to have a big bear hug every night before he goes to bed or he can not sleep. I wonder how much longer he will continue to kiss me good bye on the cheek and give me a big hug before he leaves for school. I am enjoying it knowing that it will not last forever. I never thought I would survive Ethan being a toddler but now I can hardly believe the sweet kid he has become. I will definitely enjoy it while it lasts.

Fall Fun

Sorry there are tons of photos but I have not been very good about posting, so here is our fall in a nutshell.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Cute little Brody was so excited about his shark costume. He would wear it around the house and he wouldn't let me take it off, but of course on Halloween he refused to wear it. He wouldn't put on the jacket so we put on the hood and got one picture and the costume was off. That's what you get with a two year old.
Here are the cute cousins at the cousin Halloween party. Their favorite part was the freeze dancing. It was so cute to watch them all dancing. Even Brody got in on the fun posing every time the music stopped.

SOCCER SEASON
It was Addy's first year and she looked so cute in that uniform
Yep she is playing but don't worry she still has time to strike a pose.
This was the second to last game and she finally touched the ball. The whole season she just ran around as fast as she could not really caring where the ball was so this was a huge break through.
This is Ethan's cute team. I got to coach them this year and they were a great group of kids. They really improved throughout the season and it was so fun to be a part of.
CASCADE SPRINGS
So we went on a fun little hike, it is hard to believe that I have lived here all my life and never been on this fun little hike. It was perfect for the kids to walk around and even stroller friendly.

Happy 2nd Birthday Brody!!!

10 fun things we love about Brody at age 2

1. We call Brody the Big Man On Campus because he has to do everything that the big kids are doing. Size and age don't matter to him he just follows along and most the time he can keep up.

2. Brody love his white blankies. He sleeps with them every night and if he ever needs to be calmed down the blankets come in handy.

3. Brody still drinks milk out of a bottle because he refuses to drink milk any other way.

4. Brody refuses to sit in his high chair now so he joins us for dinner on a big chair now.

5. Brody loves animals, he will run up and pet every animal he sees. (Even the stray cats at the park, who meow and chase us to the car because they don't want Brody to Leave.)

6. Brody loves trucks, he is always carrying around a truck with him almost everywhere that he goes.

7. Brody is still my biggest snuggle bug. He loves to give hugs and kisses.

8. Whenever he says goodbye to someone he always blows them a kiss.

9. Brody loves loves popsicles he is constantly pulling me over the the freezer begging for popsicles, he would eat them all day if I let him.

10. Brody loves his big wheel and will ride it around the house. He also likes to take it full speed down the drive way which is very scary because he lands right in the middle of the road.

We sure enjoy Brody and he always keeps us on our toes and is in need of constant supervision. He is a very busy boy and loves to get into everything. Life wouldn't be the same without the Brodster around.

These pictures were actually taken the week before his birthday. Poor Brody had to have 8 stitches in his pinky finger after the wind blew the door shut on it. He was such a tough guy the nurses said that he barely cried. The only time he really started crying was when he saw me right after they had put the stitches in. He had to complain to someone, it might as well be Mom right.
Let the Party Begin
Addy was so excited about Brody's birthday she helped pick out the cake that we were going to make and she helped make all of the cupcake animals. We may have a party planner on our hands.

Sad News

We had to say good bye to our sweet dog Zeke last month. Don't worry he is still alive, just living with another family. I had to leave the house when the new family came to pick him up because I was too sad to deal with it. Zeke had adopted us as his family five years ago so it was hard to let him go. This is how the story goes. The neighbors had found him at the pound and when they went out of town we took care of him. After the neighbors got home Zeke would sneek into our house every day through our dog door to hang out with us. It was a fantastic way to have a dog, we got to have all the benefit with out any of the responsibility. The neighbors fed him took him to the vet and the groomer and we enjoyed him everyday. Finally the neighbor suggested that we keep him since he seemed to like us better anyway. So from then on he was ours, until we found out that he had been peeing all over our upstairs. Every time we left him alone he would pee upstairs or in my bedroom. I didn't know what to do he had a dog door so he could go outside any time he pleased, he was simply peeing to show us that he was mad at us for leaving him. There was no way to keep him from doing this so we decided that the only choice that we had was to give him away. So Zeke we miss you dearly and hope that you are enjoying your new family.

New School Year

It is hard to believe another school year is here. Summer always goes by too fast. Even when I was a kid I was never ready for school to start and I wanted it to be summer forever. I have to admit that it has been nice getting back into a schedule. It has been fun to have some alone time with Brody. I am sure that he has appreciated the alone time too.Here is Addy with her cute carpool friend Nic. She wasn't thrilled to go back to school but she had a good time anyways.
Addy picked out her "famous" sweater to wear on the first day. Anything she thinks is cool she refers to as famous.
Here is Ethan waiting for the bus. I have the same picture from last year, now he is just a little bit bigger. It is hard to believe I am the mother of a second grader.
What a great group of kids, they have always been so good to look out for Ethan.

Fancy Birthday Tea Party

For Addy's party she wanted to have a fancy tea party. I am not very creative and did not know where to begin. Luckily my friend Deena let me copy all of her tea party ideas and she also introduced me to "Fancy Nancy" what a life saver. The party was an absolute hit and the pictures don't even do it justice. I think that because the girls were all dressed up they felt they must play the part so they were very well behaved and hardly made a peep while they were eating

Birthday Girl

Addy turned 5 last Monday and I can hardly believe it. She is growing up before my very eyes. She has started to become a lot more independent and it is fun to watch her taking care of Brody. She went from always saying that she can't to finally trying things out on her own. She has been asking to help out with chores and has been stepping up to take care of things when Ethan is not around.

Here are the top 10 fun things about Addy

1. She loves to dress up and wear make up.

2. She also loves to dance and is excited to be in dance class this year

3. When she thinks something is cool she likes to use the words fabulous and famous

4. She has an amazing imagination and can keep herself entertained for hours and hours

5. She loves to sing and she knows most of the words to all the songs on the radio.

6. She usually always carries around some sort of stuffed animal she especially loves her dog pinky poo and cat named recess.

7. Addy loves animals and keeps asking for a puppy and hamster. I tell her that we already have a puppy Zeke but she said that he is a dog and not a puppy. I don't think she realizes that puppies don't stay puppies forever.

8. Addy is finally swimming in the deep part of the pool, with floaties of course. (baby steps)

9. Addy loves to be with the older girls in the neighborhood and they are nice enough to let her tag along.

10. Her new favorite game is secret agent so she is always sneaking around the house saying I am a secret agent so you can't see me

Addy is so fun and I am excited to see what she learns this year!!!

Summer Time

I have not done a very thorough job of documenting the summer. The camera always seems to be left behind. It missed the entire trip to Park City where we spent the 4th of July watching parades, fire works, faces getting painted and riding the alpine slide and coaster. Then it missed the entire St. George 24th of July trip too. I managed to pull out the camera right before we left Bear Lake. So here are a couple of pictures of the Fearsome Foursome and the Master of Disaster. Addy had a great time with her big cousin Courtney and she even went tubing with her. She would not go with anyone else. This was a major break through. Brody had a blast at the beach stealing everyone's beach toys. Ethan was very helpful keeping track of the younger ones. I don't have too many pictures because I kept leaving my camera on the boat. We had a great time and it was fun to have all of the cousin's together. The tube was a hit this year and all of the kids except Addy went for a ride. The kids did have a little trouble when they were trying to decide who the princess would be, I am pretty sure we have quite a few princesses in the pack.

It is hard to believe we are ending another school year. Time seems to be going by too fast. Addy has learned so much this year it has been so fun to see her progress. Addy completed another year of gymnastics and she finished her first year of preschool. She looked so cute in her little graduation program so I thought I would post some pics.

Bryce Canyon

We had a really fun weekend at Bryce Canyon, with Jason's parents. It is always a little sketchy taking small children camping but surprisingly we had a great time. Addy was a trooper she hiked three miles, which is amazing for those little legs. Brody loved hanging in the back pack. Ethan was a great hiker as always. Ethan and Addy both became Jr. Rangers, Ethan was super excited and Addy lacked the enthusiasm but still managed to complete the assignments.

Another Decade Gone

Yep I just tuned 30. I am still trying to take it all in. I am sure that I will survive, I know lot's of people who have turned 30 and they seem to be alright. I must brag about my cute husband because he made it the best birthday ever. He surprised me with a trip to Huntington Beach. If you know Jason you know that he can not pull off surprises he gets to excited and can never wait for the surprise. He managed to pull it off and it was a total success. We had the best time relaxing with no kids and eating the best food. I gained about 3 lbs, I guess the slow metabolism is already kicking in. Jason took a few pictures on his phone, my camera had a dead battery so these will have to do.

Check out our sweet rental car. They gave us a free upgrade. We drove it off the lot and then had to bring it back because it was shaking and lot's of warning lights kept coming on. I guess that's why it was a free upgrade.

We went to dinner at Roy's the concierge told them it was my birthday so they gave us free appetizers and dessert. They decorated the table and even had a special menu for me. Talk about the royal treatment.

Thanks Jason for the best birthday ever. It made turning 30 not seem quite so bad. Cheers to another year!!!!

Fairy Tea Party

Addy and I got to attend the Fairy Tea Party last weekend at the Provo library. We went with a few of our neighbors. Addy loved every minute of it. She especially loved the ballerinas, she couldn't keep her eyes off of them. We were standing in line to get her picture taken with the fairy king and all she wanted to do was get her picture taken with the ballerinas. She asked me when she was going to get the big ballerina skirt and shoes. I guess I might have a dancer on my hands. Thanks Kim for getting us tickets.

Addy's Preschool V-day Program

Addy had a cute preschool Valentine program. It was so fun to watch her singing. She loves to sing she sings along with the radio, she sings in her room with her toys, she sings pretty much all the time. She has been practicing the preschool songs at home for weeks, so she finally got to perform them for us. Next she was excited about writing her name on her Valentine's. Her name got a little bit more legible towards the end of the Valentine's. Some of the kids may have gotten a Valentine from Abby because she mixes up her B's and her D's. That's okay because she did it herself. Happy Valentine's Day!

Ethan invited his friends sledding to celebrate his birthday.

It is fun to see the changes in Ethan from Age 6 to 7. He is now a really good reader. He is great at writing and drawing pictures. He also is getting along with Addy a million percent better. He follows the rules and if anyone is out of line, no problem Ethan will let them know. He is now a huge Utah Ute fan. Grandma and Grandpa even took him to a Utes game for his birthday. Ethan still loves legos and is getting really good at putting them together. He still likes star wars guys and loves to play them with his dad. I am so glad that we survived those first few years because Ethan has turned out to be a great kid. I am really proud of him!

Don't worry the view was lacking but the company was not, we laughed all morning long. Who needs a beautiful view anyways.
This is my freshman dorm. I was flooded with memories as we drove around the campus. Things have really changed. Laie seems more populated and they even had a Taco Bell and a Pizza Hutt. They now have two Food lands on the North shore and a stoplight, times are a changing.
The pineapple delights are not as good as I remember, they used to come inside of a pineapple.

It was awesome to go and see the Laie Temple, I have lots of fun college memories there.

Ski Day

Good Times

I wanted to post these pictures of the kids hiking around in St George. It was nice to get out of the snow for a little bit.

Brody was a crazy hiker he wanted to go everywhere, which is scary because he was always walking towards the edge. I spent the afternoon saving his life!!!!

Addy was climbing up everything and even jumping down on occasion this is an amazing feat for my super cautious girl.

Ethan has really grown up he was following the big kids around and climbing up everything that they were. It is fun to see him act so mature.

Wow I can not believe that Christmas and New Years have come and gone so quick. We really did have a great Christmas, I was not sure if Santa was going make it this year because of all of the fighting between Ethan and Addy. We sat down with them and made some rules, they were very eager to join in and tell us what rules they needed to be following. They were then given a prize to look forward to every day such as reading a Christmas story with papa or going to see the Christmas lights. This really helped and made this year a little bit more enjoyable. I hope that this continues into the new year.

I look back and there have been some great times, some rocky times, some average times, some wonderful times, and everything in-between. Blogging day number 3, okay so I have been trying to catch up on my posts and I really need to post about Halloween but I am going to post about the huge Meteor that came shooting through the sky last night at 12:07. We were driving home and all of the sudden the sky lit up, as bright as if it were day time. I looked over and saw a ball of fire shooting through the sky it was like a shooting star but so much bigger. I thought that it was going to hit the ground but it dissipated before it got that close. It was only a few seconds but it was pretty amazing to be able to see something like that. I guessed that it was a meteor but I wasn't sure until this morning when I saw it on the news. They said that the meteor was about the size of an oven traveling 80,00 miles an hour, 100 miles up in the air. Pretty crazy and definitely blog worthy.

Addy's Preschool Field Trip

Day number two of blogging, Addy got to go on a really fun October field trip. The first stop was at the pumpkin patch. Who knew we lived so close to a pumpkin patch. We learned all about how to grow pumpkins and why some are orange and some are white. Then they let us loose in the corn maze. Addy and I cheated a little, when the whistle blew for us to meet back we were still stuck in the maze so we worked our way back to the entrance and that is how we exited. Maybe we can go back next year to find the right way out. After the pumpkin patch it was on to the park. This is Addy's favorite park and conveniently located across the street from the fire department. Which of coarse was the last stop on the fun filled trip. Addy got to walk through the fire truck and they even gave her a fire hat. It was a perfect trip for a four year old.

Soccer Pro

I am super behind on blogging so I think I might add a post everyday this week until I am caught up. We are leaping back to September I have to post about my little soccer player. Ethan has really turned a new leaf this year. He asked me to sign him up for soccer and I was a little bit unsure because last year was a little bit interesting. Ethan scored plenty of goals last year but they were always for the other team. Any time the ball was near the goal he was defending he would just turn around and kick the ball in. I guess he figured no one was defending him and this was his opportunity. After each game we would try to instruct him that he was supposed to kick the ball in the other net. If he was not scoring a goal for the other team he was mostly running up and down the field with the players never wanting to actually get the ball. He also made sure that we were watching him if we didn't we would definitely hear about it. I am not really sure what we were watching since obviously soccer was not his thing. The last few games were painful because he didn't want to go so then I was dragging him there saying "you are going and you are going to like it, you made a commitment and you are going to follow through" When did I turn in to such a mom? So needless to say I was leery about signing him up for this season, he convinced me that he really wanted to play so I signed him up. During the second game something clicked with him and all of the sudden he was going after the ball and actually turning the ball around and heading toward the right goal. He actually scored several goals for our team. Each week he got better and better by the end of the season he was the best player on our team. It was really fun to see him mature this year. He had a great coach and was surprising us all the time. It was a really fun season and I am actually looking forward to next year.

Here Comes Trouble

Brody had his 1st birthday party on Saturday, he will not be one until Thursday but I wanted to do a swimming party while the weather was still nice. It was a beautiful day it was about 85 degrees so perfect weather for swimming. We had pizza Brody's favorite food and chocolate cup cakes also one of Brody's favorites. Ya Jason has been feeding him all sorts of foods that he is not supposed to eat so this was not his first attempt at eating cake. I can hardly believe that he is a year old. Each child grows up faster and faster. I wasn't sure I would make it through the sleepless nights but here I am a year later and we made it through. Brody is a character he started walking on the 13th and hasn't stopped. He is so little so it is funny to see him walking around and getting into everything. Now that he is walking the attitude has begun, for some reason my kids think that is a right of passage once you start walking you can do whatever you want whenever you want. He is still sweet but very persistent which is good because he is the third child so he has to fight for the attention. He is not talking English yet but he love to jabber away, I wish I knew what he was saying because it always sounds so interesting. He loves Ethan and is always excited to see him. Addy on the other hand sometimes drives him crazy. She likes to be in his face and constantly touching him and most of the time he wants to be left alone. It is pretty funny watching them. We are so glad to have Brody around he keeps us so busy but we wouldn't have it any other way.

King of the day

On Friday Ethan got to be king of the day it was very exciting. Ethan got to make his own very special crown. Then he had to fill the jeweled box with things that were important to him. It was fun to see what he wanted to put in the box. He made sure to put one of his transformers in, one of his Lego creations, his light up gun and a star wars guy. Then he threw in a baseball, he doesn't like baseball that much but he does like sports so that counts right? He put one of his soccer cleats in then he came running down the stairs asking for a picture of the family. It was so cute, he came to me and said I need to put a picture of our family in the box because that is very important to me. It was neat to see that he had thought about that. I could not find a picture so he put in a photo book that we had made that had pictures of the family. All in all it was a perfect day to be king.

Preschool for Addy

Addy is an official preschooler, she just walked right into class and sat down she had no problems leaving me behind. Addy has been looking forward to going to school after watching Ethan so she was a little disappointed when she found out I was driving her and she would not be taking the bus like the big kids. She got over it pretty fast when she found out we would be carpooling with Nic. Her teachers are Mrs. Jackie and Mrs. Loni and so far Addy has made a big impression, because they commented to me that they have loved having Addy in class this year, which makes me wonder what kind of shenanigans she has been up to. Addy is really growing up despite the fact that she is a foot smaller than everyone in her class. Don't worry she makes up for her size in attitude and she will have no problems finding her way through this school year.

Ethan started first grade last week, and he as been loving every min of it. I didn't think that I would be sad but when the day finally came I was sad because my little baby was going to be in school all day long. The sadness did not last too long because he loves school and it is nice for me to have a break from Ethan and Addy fighting. Ethan has grown up so much, as a toddler he would yell at me for telling him good morning when he woke up. Then if I made eye contact this would throw him right into a fit. If somebody touched him he would yell at me to wipe it off. I took him to the Dr. and they decided that he had 7 out of the 10 most difficult personality traits. The Dr.then told me that he was going to be a difficult kid and their was nothing that I could do except wait until turned 18 and moved out. Wow what a difference a few years can make. He is like a totally different kid. Now he tells me good morning when he wakes up and if someone talks to him he smiles and answers their question (it is like a miracle). He is great for his teachers and they told me that he follows directions, raises his hand, shares, and behaves well for them. He is turning out to be a sweet kid after all. He will be a great first grader and so far he has been so excited to go every morning. He was disappointed when Saturday came because he could not go to school. We love ya Ethan and you have always kept our life interesting, we never know what we are going to get and we wish you the best this year!!!!

My Girl

Addy just turned 4 on Sunday, I can not believe she is that old already. Grandma and Grandpa Marsh, Uncle David and Grandpa Parry came over to celebrate (Grandma Parry was living the hard life vacationing in Switzerland with her sisters). Addy's birthday requests were a cake with balloons and a Gabriella Barbie, so all of her wishes were fulfilled. That may not be the case in the years to come. Addy is still the size of a two year old so you would never guess that she is four. She may be little in size but she can sure hold her own. She will get right up in Ethan's face and let him have it. Addy has no patience when she needs something she needs it now. She can be very stubborn and she will stand her ground. She can also be very sweet and snugly. She always wants papa to sleep with her and she makes sure to come down and ask him every night. Addy walks with a little wiggle in her step and she runs everywhere that she goes. She is a great big sister and she loves taking care of Brody. She will play for hours by herself and not need anyone else. She loves Ethan no matter what even if I put him in time out for bugging her she will beg me to get him out so she can play with him. She has so much personality packed in that little body and I don't know what we would do with out her. We sure love ya Addy and Happy Birthday.

Summer Craze

So far this summer has been lots of fun but crazy too. Starting off the summer with three weekend trips in a row to St. George. Then the next weekend I helped out with Youth Conference. After that we went to tanners flat for the Fourth of July then Jason and I were off to Park City. We had so much fun we went golfing and out to eat and we spent a day on the alpine slide and coaster and zip line. Next I went to girls camp, then it was off to St George again for the 24th. We came home then turned around and went back to St. George for Jason's work retreat full of golfing, boating, mountain biking, Bunk o, Footloose, Mafia and much much more. This weekend I am going to St. George once again to take the Mia Maids to Zion. Wow I need to catch my breath but the summer is still in full swing for a few more weeks. We still have Spruces and Bear lake to go. I just might be excited for the fall to begin so I can take a break!!!!

Brody sure is growing up all of the sudden he is not a little baby any more. He started crawling in June and now is turbo speed. He pulls himself up and walks around all the furniture, he is getting tricky trying to do it one handed. Now that he moves around I have watch him every minute because he puts everything in his mouth. I will check the floor and think everything is all clear and nope Brody has found something and it is going straight for his mouth. He can climb up the stairs which is a big worry because he can not climb down. It is exciting and sad all at the same time. Brody's favorite summer treats are watermelon, macaroni and cheese and Daddy even fed him pizza. He seems so grown up but at his well check he only weighed 16 lbs 3 oz and was 26 in long, putting him in the 3rd percentile. So small in stature big in heart.

We have had a very busy month, so here are some of the highlights. Evan came to visit so went camping with Grandma and Grandpa Marsh for the fourth of July. We sort of cheated because Addy, Brody, Jason, and I slept at my mom's house instead of the camp site. Then the next day we hiked to Lake Solitude and Addy hiked the whole way by herself that is a monumental moment for her.

Tooth Fairy

Ethan lost his first tooth while we were in St. George, it was very exciting. Jason tried to pull it out but it would not come out so he grabbed the pliers and Ethan would not have any of that. A couple of days later Ethan was brushing his teeth and low and behold it just came right out. He got to put it under his pillow and he made sure that we knew that the first tooth that you loose is worth five dollars. (Heidi thanks for that) Guess what the tooth fairy came and somehow she knew that first teeth really are worth five dollars.

This summer has been flying by, so far we have been to St George every weekend. Jason's cousins Jenn and Terry came out to see us with their darling little families. It was fun to catch up with them and get to know them a little bit better. Jenn and Jamie brought their sweet 3 month old baby Jade. She was so easy going, we dragged her to the beach and hiking and she barley made a peep. Terry and Tracy brought Julian their 18 month old and he was on the go, not to much longer and Brody will be on the go too. Tracy was also a good sport she has a high risk pregnancy and I am sure she was feeling very uncomfortable, but I am glad that she made the trip. It was so great to have them come and visit we had so much fun and we hope to do this again sometime soon.

Kindergarten Graduation

The kids each got a balloon to send off into the world. Ethan's note said that he wanted his balloon to land at Hunter's house.

Ethan told me that the thing that he will miss the most about Kindergarten is Mr. Kay.

This is Ethan's Kindergarten Graduation. They had a very cute program, all of the kids dressed up in what they wanted to be when they grow up. Ethan told me that he wants to be a police officer when he grows up because they get to ride motorcycles and turn on the sirens. Also they catch the robbers. During the program Ethan was the best singer he was singing his little heart out. He knew all of the words. Mr. Kay put together a video from the whole school year that we watched and there was not a dry eye in the room. It was so cute and it is sad that he is growing up so fast. Ethan's told me his favorite thing about kindergarten was math. He said his favorite friends from his class are Sawyer and Toby. He is really going to miss Mr. Kay this summer. Thanks Mr. Kay for being such a good teacher!!!!!

Spring Spectacular

This is Addy with her cute gymnastics friends. It is fun to see how much they have learned this year. When they first started none of the kids knew how to follow directions or take tuns. Now all of the kids listen to instructions and wait their turn (most of the time). I was glad to see that there are other crazy 3 year olds out there.
Addy loves her trophy and she tells everyone that it is her special trophy.
Here we are, Addy's biggest fans.
Gymnastics has been really great for Addy. Her gross motor skills have really improved. When we started class she could not even jump and now she is a jumping machine. Her favorite trick to do is a forward roll. She still has a hard time with the bars because she is the only one in her class who can not reach them. She has loved gymnastics and her teacher was really good about making Addy do things by herself. We will be back in the fall!!!

3. Fed Brody several times.
4. Helped Ethan get his out fit ready for the end of the year program. Turns out he wants to be a police man because they ride motorcycles and get to be in charge of the sirens. I don't think he realizes the potential safety risk, but I don't want to burst his bubble.
5. Ate dinner at Joe Banditto's (I don't know if I spelled that right.) They have the best chips and salsa!!!
6. Went on a walk around the block and ran over a thorn, and the tire on my sweet stroller went flat.
7. Put the kids to bed.
8. Watched American Idol (Vote for Kris)

8 Things I wish I could do:
1. Sing really well.
2. Have more time to sleep.
3. Have a chef to cook dinner every night.
4. I wish I did not have to pick up a million toys, clothes, things, every night before I went to bed.
5. I wish I never had to be sick again.
6. I wish that my kids and husband would never have to be sick again.

Brody had his six month pictures taken, they turned out so awesome as usual. Emily Utley is the best she always manages to get really great shots, even if my kids are being totally uncooperative. I thought that I would post a few shots on my blog because they are so cute. Oh and the new Brody updates, he is officially rolling from his back to his belly as of April 16th. When he is trying to get a toy he rolls back and forth until he can shimmy his way to reach it. He is full of smiles and loves to giggle. He seems to be getting more content the older he gets. He really is such a sweet heart just look at him!!!!

Kindy 500

Ethan wanted his car to be a race car. He told me that it had to be 26 because that is an important Kindergarten number (26 letters, 26 sounds, 26 sight words.)

Ethan's Kindergarten planned a day where they got to travel around the United States. They each made a car to drive from station to station. Ethan got to see a live falcon that flew around the gym. He also got to see a Bald Eagle. They had several stops along the way, such as Mt Rushmore and The White House. Ethan thought this was an awesome day.

5 Months Old Today

Brody is five months old today. He is growing so fast. He is full of smiles all the time now. He always has to be in the middle of the action. He was a mama's boy for awhile, but now he is starting to think that dad is really cool too. He has been eating rice cereal for about a month now. Also he is sleeping really great, I can put him to bed around 9:30 and then he wakes up between 5 and 6 to eat then he will go right back to bed. I feel like a real person again. He loves his little crinkly book and he can hold his rattles and shake them. He is so much fun to have around. Ethan and Addy still love the smother him with hugs and kisses.

Ethan's B-day Party

I am a little behind but I wanted to post some pictures from Ethan's party. We went to Chuck E Cheese's and had a blast. It was a great party because the kids were free to do what they wanted. Ethan has great friends, they were so cute and well behaved. The hardest part was trying to transport 13 kids. I drove our suburban and Jason had to borrow our neighbors suburban (thanks Studdert's). Every seat in both cars was occupied. Ethan wanted to thank everyone for coming and also thank them for his great presents. I would like to give a special thanks to the Alfonso's for helping us with crowd control. All in all the birthday was a success.

Happy Birthday Ethan. I can hardly believe you are six years old. It seems like you were just a baby yesterday. You have really grown up over the last years. We are so grateful to have you in our home. You have been a great big brother to Brody, you are going to be great buddies when you grow up. You still need to work on things with Addy but someday you will appreciate having a sister around. Thanks for being a great kid.

Rolling Over

Okay so I have been trying to post this for several day but my blogger account was not letting me in until today. Last Monday Brody rolled from his stomach to his back. He has only done this a few times since then but I thought it was a mile stone that should be recorded. We went for his well check appointment that same day and he is now 12 lbs 11 oz and 23 1/4 inches. The doctor said he was in the 5%for weight and the 3% for height. We have another little one on our hands I am afraid.

Potty Training Break Through

Last night I was speechless, Addy was in the tub and she said she had to go potty. This is a regular occurrence so I took her out of the tub and put her on the Elmo Potty. Low and behold she went to the bathroom. This is a major break through for Addy because she has not once gone potty on the potty. I had thrown in the towel on the whole potty training thing. On Monday I sat in the bathroom with Addy for hours, with no luck. Two minutes after we leave the bathroom Addy has an accident, with two more to follow that (luckily we have wood floors.) I told Jason that she would never be attending school because she was never going to go on the big potty. Of coarse she proved me wrong. I know we still have a long road ahead of us. Now we know that she can do it. We will see what the rest of the day brings.

Christmas Time

We had a great Christmas this year. Brody almost had his acting debut in the Christmas pageant. We were not sure if Sebastien was going to show up to play baby Jesus, but he pulled though at the last minute. Luckily Sebastien showed up because Brody was very fussy. Brody turned out to be a great understudy. After the pageant we had a great Christmas Eve dinner with Jason's parents and David. Santa came and somehow knew just what the kids wanted. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Parry's for Christmas lunch. Grandpa thought it was funny that all of the kids got new toys for Christmas but every one was playing with the old marble machine and legos. Why do we need new toys again?

Ben's Wedding

We flew out to Seattle for Jason's little brother's wedding. We had a great time seeing all of Jason's relatives. We hardly get to see them. We had a fun time mingling with his aunts, uncles, cousins and Grandmother. Ben and Kara looked very happy and we are excited for them. We wish them the very best.

Okay so it has been a while since my last post. A new baby definitely keeps you busy. Here are some Halloween pics. We had the star wars theme going (Princess Lea, Jango Fett, and Yoda) Even Brody got to go trick or treating because it was so warm. He didn't see much because he slept in the stroller the whole time.

New Edition

It is finally time to kick off our blog sight. Baby Brody Dickson Marsh was born on Wed Sept. 24 at 5:48 pm. He was 7lbs 3ozs. It was a long day at the hospital. We arrived at 6:30 am and they started the pitocin at 8:00am and Brody didn't arrive until about 10 hours later. Thank goodness for an epidural. He came out alert and crying. Ethan and Addy have welcomed him with lots of love and attention.
